What is Sound Healing
Sound healing is the therapeutic application of sound frequencies to the body and mind of a person with the intention of bringing them into a state of harmony and health. In our demanding modern culture we lead such busy lives, trying to fit more and more into our hectic schedules. Chronic stress is at epidemic proportions. Stillness and rest are essential for our mental, physical and emotional wellbeing. I am offering a deeply calming and soothing experience through sound healing London sessions. Join me in my sound studio for a sound bath or individual sound healing session and immerse yourself in the soothing sounds. Relax and reset your mind, body and mood.

Here are just some of the benefits of Sound healing
Sound healing uses therapeutic sound vibrations produced by instruments like singing bowls and voice which have a profound effect on the body and mind's ability to relax. Here's why:
**Harmonic Resonance:**
The human body is composed largely of water, a medium that conducts sound efficiently. When exposed to harmonic sound vibrations, the body resonates with these frequencies, leading to a state of harmonic resonance. This resonance can calm the nervous system, reducing the production of stress hormones and encouraging relaxation.
**Brainwave Entrainment:**
Sound healing can lead to brainwave entrainment, a process where the brainwave frequencies align with the sound vibrations' frequency. Slow, soothing rhythms can encourage the brain to shift from higher-frequency brainwaves associated with normal waking consciousness (beta waves) to lower-frequency waves (alpha and theta waves) associated with relaxation and meditative states. This shift promotes deep relaxation and can enhance mindfulness and meditation practices.
**Deep Breathing:**
The calming nature of sound therapy often leads to deeper, more rhythmic breathing. Deep breathing is a critical component of relaxation, as it signals the body to calm down and relax, reducing heart rate and lowering blood pressure, further enhancing the relaxation experience.
**Stress Reduction:**
By engaging the parasympathetic nervous system—the part of the autonomic nervous system responsible for 'rest-and-digest' activities—sound healing helps reduce the physiological markers of stress. As the body relaxes, stress and anxiety levels drop, creating a cycle of relaxation that feeds back into itself, promoting a deeper state of calm with each session.
**Emotional Release:**
The soothing effect of sound on the emotional centres of the brain facilitates the release of pent-up emotions, leading to emotional balance. This release can feel like a weight has been lifted, further contributing to a state of relaxation and peace.
**Presence and Mindfulness:**
Sound healing sessions encourage participants to focus on the present moment and the array of sounds enveloping them. This focus on the present helps clear the mind of clutter, worries, and the constant stream of thoughts, allowing for a deep sense of peace and tranquillity.
By directly impacting both the physical and psychological aspects of relaxation, sound healing offers a comprehensive approach to unwinding and de-stressing, making it a powerful tool for those seeking respite from the fast pace of modern life.

What you can expect during a Sound Healing London session
I use a mixture of voice, Himalayan bowls, crystal bowls, chimes, percussion instruments and crystals in my sessions and far from a mere auditory experience, the sounds are pretty powerful and if you concentrate you can often feel them as well as hear them. Whilst sound healing sessions in London often creates a deep sense of relaxation it can also sometimes get pretty intense. You might find yourself feeling happy, angry, sad or upset at the thoughts or memories that come up for you. It's also totally fine to cry during a session. In fact it can be cathartic (tears contain feel good chemicals like endorphins and oxytocin that can help us feel better). Sound impacts us on such an elemental level and research shows us that sound consists of vibrations that affect us on a cellular level impacting brain, nerve, muscle and organ function.

Crystal Bowls
Made from high quality quartz they produce a beautiful clear sound with long lasting vibrations. Crystal amplifies and focuses sound, creating tones that resonate at specific frequencies. They produce a clear pure sound that has been described as “other worldly”.

Himalayan Bowls
Made from different types of metals, these bowls deliver a rich, warm sound with complex overtones. The make up of these bowls allows a range of notes and harmonics which can create a layered soundscape that can be both calm and invigorating.
