What to expect – gentle yoga Flow + Sound

You’ll arrive into a warm, softly scented studio, with thick mats and yoga bolsters already laid out and waiting for you. Gentle music plays quietly in the background as you settle in and make yourself comfortable. As you do, Emma will talk you through how the session will flow before Tiffany introduces the yoga part of the practice and explains a little more about how the class will unfold.

These sessions begin with some gentle breathwork before moving into a slow, floor-based yoga flow designed to help the body gradually soften, open and settle. The movements are accessible for both beginners and those with more experience, with plenty of options offered throughout.

Unlike the Yin Yoga sessions, the sound bath does not begin during the movement portion of the class. Instead, the yoga and sound unfold in two distinct parts, allowing the body time to fully settle before the sound begins.

Towards the close of the yoga practice, you’ll move into shavasana, where cushions, blankets and weighted eye shades are offered to help you get completely comfortable. From there, the live sound bath begins.

Himalayan and crystal singing bowls sit at the heart of the sound bath, alongside a carefully chosen selection of instruments introduced gradually to shape the pace, depth and atmosphere of the journey. There is nothing recorded and no fixed sequence. Each session is unique — no two are ever the same, even with the same instruments.

Most people find themselves deeply relaxed during the sound bath. Some fall asleep, which is completely welcome, though snoring may occasionally earn a gentle tap on the shoulder and an invitation to turn over.

At the close of the sound, ten minutes of silence follows. A space for everything to settle before we gently return.

You’re warmly welcome to share anything about your experience afterwards, or simply gather yourself quietly and head home.

Please aim to arrive a few minutes before the session begins to give yourself time to settle in comfortably. Once the session has started the studio door is closed — if you’ve left a contact number and are running just a few minutes late, please do call ahead and we’ll do our best to help.

Please note that sound baths are not advised for:

  • Those in the first three months of pregnancy
  • Children
  • Those with pacemakers or metal implants
  • Anyone experiencing severe mental health problems
  • Those with a history of epilepsy or seizures should consult their doctor for suitability
