This slower, more grounding yoga and sound bath session combines long-held Yin poses with live sound played throughout the practice. As the postures are held, Himalayan bowls, crystal bowls and other carefully chosen instruments support stillness, breath and gradual release through the body before the session closes with silence and rest.

what to expect – yin + sound

You’ll arrive into a warm, softly scented studio, with thick mats and yoga bolsters already laid out and waiting for you. Gentle music plays quietly in the background as you settle in and make yourself comfortable. As you do, Emma will talk you through how the session will flow before Tiffany introduces the Yin part of the practice and explains a little more about how the class will unfold.

These sessions begin with some breathwork before moving into the long-held Yin Yoga poses designed to work deeply into the body through stillness and time. Some poses may feel challenging at moments, inviting you to stay present, soften where possible and gradually settle into the posture through the support of the breath and the sound around you.

As Tiffany guides the practice, Emma moves quietly around the room with the instruments, shaping the sound around each pose to help you ease more fully into the experience. There is no guided visualisation in these sessions — the sound begins immediately and evolves naturally alongside the movement and stillness of the practice.

Himalayan and crystal singing bowls sit at the heart of the session, alongside a carefully chosen selection of instruments introduced gradually to shape the pace, depth and atmosphere of the journey. There is nothing recorded and no fixed sequence. Each session is unique — no two are ever the same, even with the same instruments.

Towards the close of the session, the final pose and sound come to an end and you’ll then move into shavasana. Blankets and weighted eye shades are offered as the room gradually settles into silence. Most people find themselves deeply relaxed by this stage. Some fall asleep, which is completely welcome, though snoring may occasionally earn a gentle tap on the shoulder and an invitation to turn over.

At the close of the silence, we gently return.

You’re warmly welcome to share anything about your experience afterwards, or simply gather yourself quietly and head home.

Please aim to arrive a few minutes before the session begins to give yourself time to settle in comfortably. Once the session has started the studio door is closed — if you’ve left a contact number and are running just a few minutes late, please do call ahead and we’ll do our best to help.
