What to expect
You’ll arrive into a warm, softly scented studio, where thick mats, blankets, cushions and weighted eye shades are already laid out and waiting for you. Gentle nature sounds play quietly in the background as you settle in and make yourselves comfortable. Before we begin, I’ll explain how the session will unfold so everyone knows exactly what to expect.
When you’re ready, I’ll guide you into the experience with a short visualisation before the live sound begins.
One of the things people love about a private sound bath is having the studio entirely to themselves. Whether you’re coming on your own or sharing the experience with family or friends, there’s no need to think about anyone else. It’s simply your time, in your own space, to relax together.
Before your session, we’ll decide together which of my sound journeys feels the best fit for your group. Some people are drawn to the lighter, more spacious feel of Cloud or Beach, while others prefer the deeper, more grounding quality of Mountain or Chakra Balance. If you’re not sure, I’m always happy to guide you.
The sound bath is played entirely live, with Himalayan and crystal singing bowls at its heart, alongside a carefully chosen collection of other instruments that shape the pace, depth and atmosphere of the experience. Nothing is recorded and no two sessions are ever exactly the same, with each session unfolding live in its own unique way.
For the next hour, there’s nowhere else to be and nothing expected of you except to get comfortable. I’ll take care of the rest.
Most people find themselves deeply relaxed. Some drift off to sleep, while others remain awake throughout, simply enjoying the sounds and the stillness. You might notice colours, memories, emotions or physical sensations arising, or perhaps nothing in particular at all. Every experience is different, and there’s no right or wrong way to experience a sound bath.
As the final sounds fade away, we allow around ten minutes of silence for everything to settle before gently returning. Afterwards, you’re very welcome to share anything about your experience, or simply take a few quiet moments before heading home.
Please aim to arrive a few minutes before your session begins to give everyone time to settle in comfortably. Once the session has started, the studio door is closed. If you’ve left a contact number and are running just a few minutes late, please do call ahead and I’ll do my best to help.
Please note that sound baths are not advised for:
- Those in the first three months of pregnancy
- Children
- Those with pacemakers or certain metal implants
- Anyone experiencing severe mental health problems
- Those with a history of epilepsy or seizures should consult their doctor before booking.
